Trican’s corporate headquarters are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where strategic and organisational leadership is provided by the corporation’s executive management team. International operations are supported at the local business unit level by in-country leaders.
Murray L. Cobbe Executive Chairman
Murray Cobbe is the Executive Chairman of Trican Well Service Ltd. and has been with the company since its successful IPO in December 1996. Mr. Cobbe has been in the well services business since 1974 and has overseen operations in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Mr. Cobbe graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1970 with a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir). In addition, Mr. Cobbe is past Director of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (“PSAC”) (the national association of Canadian oilfield service, supply and manufacturing companies). Mr. Cobbe currently serves as a director of Pason Systems Inc. (a vertically integrated specialist providing data solutions to the oil and gas drilling industry) and as a director of Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. (an exploration and production trust).
Dale M. Dusterhoft Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Dusterhoft joined Trican at its inception in 1996 and is Chief Executive Officer. Prior to becoming CEO, Mr. Dusterhoft was the Senior Vice President of Technical Services. Before joining Trican, Mr. Dusterhoft worked for 12 years with a major Canadian pressure pumping company where he held management positions in Operations, Sales and Engineering. Mr. Dusterhoft graduated from the University of Calgary in 1984 with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Donald R. Luft President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Luft is President and Chief Operating Officer and a director of Trican, and has been with the company since August 1996. Mr. Luft’s previous position with Trican was as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and a director of the company. Prior to that Mr. Luft was a consultant with the company during the transition from a private company to the present public company from August 1996 to December 1996. Mr. Luft was previously employed by Nowsco for approximately 23 years. He went on to work in all of its specialized service areas both locally and internationally. Management experience included at various times, Base Management, Manager of the coil tubing business line for Canada, Assistant Operations Manager for Canada, and the Corporate Manager for the global development of Nowsco’s coil tubing drilling.
Michael G. Kelly, C.A. Senior Vice President, EAME & CIS
Mr. Kelly joined Trican in May 1997 and is currently Senior VP, EAME & CIS, responsible for overall operations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Mr. Kelly was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer shortly after joining the Company, a position he held until his appointment to Senior Vice President, Corporate Development in early 2009. In mid-2010, Mr. Kelly was named Senior VP, Russia and the Middle East and moved to Russia to oversee the growth and development of these operations. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Kelly was employed since 1992 as Finance Director of a successful Russian Canadian well service joint venture. Mr. Kelly is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the energy industry.
Michael A. Baldwin Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Baldwin initially joined Trican in October 1997 as Controller, and subsequently held the positions of Manager, Finance and Treasurer. Mr. Baldwin re-joined Trican in November 2008 as Vice President Finance and CFO. Prior to re-joining Trican, Mr. Baldwin was employed as the Chief Financial Officer of Pure Energy Services Ltd. from June 2005 until October 2008. Before joining Trican initially, Mr. Baldwin had been employed by a major accounting firm since 1994. Mr. Baldwin has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
Bonita M. Croft Vice President, Legal, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Croft joined Trican in 2005 as General Counsel. She was appointed Corporate Secretary in 2007 and Vice President Legal in 2008. Prior to joining Trican, Ms. Croft served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with Tesco Corporation, as Legal Counsel with Talisman Energy Inc., and in private practice with McCarthy Tétrault both in Toronto and Calgary. Ms. Croft received her LL.B from Dalhousie Law School in 1990 and a Bachelor of Arts (First Class with Distinction) in Economics from Mount Allison University in 1987. Ms. Croft serves on the National Executive Committee of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, the board of directors of the Inhouse Counsel Network and the Risk Management Committee of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Prairies/NWT Region. She is a member of the Alberta General Counsel Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
Steve J. Redmond Vice President, Human Resources/Health, Safety and Environment
Mr. Redmond is Vice President, Human Resources and Health, Safety and Environment and has been with the company since July 1999. Mr. Redmond brings more than 30 years of experience in operations, HS&E and HR in Canada, USA, Russia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Previous roles within Trican include Manager, HS&E and General Manager, Human Resources and HS&E. For 20 years prior to joining Trican, Mr. Redmond held several operational and management positions in various service lines as well as Health, Safety, Environment and Training with Fracmaster and Nowsco.
David R. Jones Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Jones is Trican’s Vice President, Business Development. Mr. Jones joined the Company in July of 2002, with the responsibility for direction and growth of Trican’s Industrial and Pipeline service Line. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Jones was a senior manager for a major oil and gas technology supplier, responsible for business development in North America, South America and Middle East. Mr. Jones has 24 years industry experience and is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan.
James J. Venditto Vice President, Technical Services
Mr. Venditto joined Trican as Vice President, Technical Services in July 2011. Mr. Venditto has close to 40 years of industry experience, most recently with Anadarko Petroleum where he held the position of Project Production Engineering Advisor. He has held numerous technical positions with Shell Oil Company in the Netherlands and in Houston, and worked with a major service provider as an advisor on stimulation technology. Upon graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1973, Mr. Venditto joined another major service provider and led a career that spanned 31 years and included positions in operations, engineering and management, as well as in an advisory capacity. He also spent five years in Research and Development as an advisor to the VP of Research for this company. Mr. Venditto began his career in the United States, and has worked in numerous international markets since 1988.
David J. Browne Vice President, Marketing
Mr. Browne, Trican’s Vice President, Marketing, has been with the Company since 1997. Prior to leading the global marketing function, Mr. Browne held the position of Corporate Director of Technology, where he was responsible for the continued advancement and promotion of technology throughout all of Trican’s geographic regions. Previously with Trican, Mr. Browne held the position of Technical Manager, Fracturing, and has the distinction of being the Company’s first Fracturing Engineer. He was also Fracturing Team Lead with Nowsco, and began his career with Norcen Energy, gaining experience in reservoir engineering and completions. Mr. Browne is a graduate of Montana Tech, obtaining a B.Sc. in petroleum engineering, as well as a graduate from SAIT. He holds memberships in APEGGA, SPE International and CADE.
Rob Cox Vice President, Canadian Geographic Region
Mr. Cox is Vice President, Canadian Geographic Region, where he oversees all aspects of management and operations within Trican Canada. Mr. Cox has been with Trican since 2000, previously holding the positions of General Manager, Canadian Geographic Region, Manager of Technical Services, Product Development Manager, and Coiled Tubing Specialist. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Cox worked with the Alberta Provincial Government in various reservoir engineering, production engineering, and management roles. His history also includes working with Canadian Fracmaster in underbalanced directional drilling with coiled tubing, and Husky Oil, as a drilling engineer. Rob is a graduate of the University of Calgary in Mechanical Engineering.
Kelly Price President, Trican Well Service, LP
Mr. Price joined Trican in 2010 and is currently President of Trican’s US Geographic Region. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Price spent more than 32 years with a major pressure pumping service company, where he served in various roles. He started his oil and gas career in Canada working in operations and in sales, before transferring to Houston, Texas, where he held a variety of management positions including VP of Division Sales and VP of Global Sales and Marketing. He has worked in many service lines including stimulation, cementing, coiled tubing, and many other oilfield related services.
Dan Doll General Director, LLC Trican Well Service
Dan Doll is the General Director of Trican Well Service in Russia. Mr. Doll joined Trican as Executive Director, Operations in 2011, and is now responsible for Trican’s overall operations in Russia.
Mr. Doll is a professional engineer with 20 years experience in the pressure pumping industry. He began his career as a field engineer, working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico in 1991. Since then, he has held various operational, technical and marketing positions and has a strong technical and operational background in cementing, fracturing, sand control and coiled tubing.
In additional to his operational experience, Mr. Doll has a strong background in international business, having worked in the United States, Equatorial Guinea, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia.
